I guess Japanese were very much influence by Chinese at times especially whent it comes to religious. They also believe in fortune telling and it seem so common over there. It is quite hard to believe such an advance country and yet so "Superstitious". They have so many kind of Fortune Telling ... some are like our traditional we alway see in the temple call the "DRAW LOTS". Pick the wooden stick from the container and then see what number is written on the stick then proceed with the notes which will give you some advise. Other will be like "TI GAM" style just pick one and go or.....you can see which blood group and month you belong so that u can pick the wrong notes for advise! Then some is just pay 100yen and the machine will drop a small note giving u advise! Unlike Chinese, if the note you get is a bad LOT usual we will burn it but for the Japanese they will just tie it on the string rack provided and leave the bad luck there!
